Need to Know

Multi-use Trails: These trails are multi-use. Watch out for others, including dirt bikes, horses, and hikers!

No Cell Service: Don't expect cell service after you drop into Elk Park until the top of Buckhorn. Pack to self support.

Isolated Areas: The Lake Moraine Trail is isolated. Access for rescue is very difficult. If utilizing Barr Camp, familiarize yourself with their hours and amenities.

Loose Gravel: The trails are often very loose gravel in sections. Fatter tires recommended.

Estimated Ride Time: Typically takes 3.5 to 5 hours of active riding. Weather changes, route navigation, or mechanical flats can easily push the total trip to 6+ hours.

Support & Donation

Recommended donation is $50 per rider. I'm a local mountain biker who loves sharing the opportunity to ride this epic set of trails with other biking enthusiasts. Since I have a flexible work schedule, I also look to participate in local trail build day opportunities on top of organizing shuttles like this.

Covers gas for the 35+ mile mountain shuttle climb.
Covers the vehicle toll/permit cost for the Pikes Peak Highway.
Max capacity of 4 riders at a time.
